Potato Please Achievements Guide: All 20 Unlocks
All 20 Potato Please achievements, how to unlock each one, the hidden ending triggers, and the three unlocks nobody has fully solved.
Potato Please has 20 achievements. Seventeen are straightforward story, count, or ending unlocks. Three are action-based or still debated: riding the sack cableway, crossing the perimeter before the quota is finished, and A Heart of Gold. This page lists every unlock and marks the ones that are confirmed, inferred, or unresolved.

The global unlock rates below are from the Steam achievements page on November 5, 2026. They are useful for spotting the hard ones: anything under 20 percent is either an ending, a hidden action, or a long grind.
What are all 20 achievements?
| Achievement | How to unlock | Global |
|---|---|---|
| First Cut | Peel your first potato | 100% |
| Warmed Up | Finish the warm-up shift | 99.2% |
| One Last Puff | Take a moment to clear your lungs | 83.5% |
| Good Boy | Feed the puppy | 75.0% |
| A Thousand Peels | Peel 1,000 potatoes, hand or machine | 63.1% |
| A Heart of Gold | Perform the smallest act of kindness | 62.1% |
| Industrial Revolution | Let the first Auto Peel Machine peel | 57.0% |
| Ten Thousand | Peel 10,000 potatoes | 49.0% |
| Employee of the Month | Reach Master Peeler | 43.2% |
| Fully Automated | Buy the Crane Autopilot | 42.6% |
| The Quota | Peel every last potato | 41.7% |
| Traitor | Choose the Western Industry route | 24.5% |
| Old School | Peel 500 potatoes by hand | 22.1% |
| For the Motherland | Choose the Northern Front route | 21.1% |
| The Last Harvest | Choose the Varenka route | 18.7% |
| No Escape | Cross the perimeter before the quota | 10.7% |
| Every Path Has a Price | See all three endings | 10.3% |
| Your Own Executioner | Unknown trigger | 7.6% |
| These Hands Were Made for Peeling | Peel 1,000 potatoes by hand | 4.6% |
| Unauthorized Passenger | Ride the sack cableway | 1.5% |
The order in the Steam list is not the order you will unlock them. The manual achievements are the long tail, and the hidden pair is the top of the difficulty curve.
How do the counting achievements work?
There are four count achievements, and they measure different things:
- A Thousand Peels: 1,000 potatoes, hand or machine.
- Ten Thousand: 10,000 potatoes, any method.
- Old School: 500 potatoes by hand, no machines.
- These Hands Were Made for Peeling: 1,000 potatoes by hand.
The hand counts are the strict ones. A Crank Peel Machine is still a machine, so it should not count toward Old School or These Hands. Use manual peeling at the board if you are chasing them.
A Thousand Peels is the friendly one. It counts machine output, so a normal automated run will unlock it without a dedicated grind. Ten Thousand is the same idea at a larger scale; the quota push will get you most of the way.
How do you unlock Industrial Revolution and Fully Automated?
Industrial Revolution unlocks when the first Auto Peel Machine peels a potato. Buy the $280 machine, feed it, and wait for the first output. The Crank Peel Machine at $20 does not count; it is hand-powered.
Fully Automated unlocks when you buy the Crane Autopilot at $1,700. You do not need a fully optimized line or a specific number of machines. The purchase itself is the trigger.
Do not buy the Claw Crane just for Fully Automated. The achievement is tied to the autopilot, and the autopilot needs the crane to be useful. Buy the crane first, then the autopilot when the line can afford it.
How do you unlock Employee of the Month?
Employee of the Month unlocks at Master Peeler. The rank is progress-based, so keep delivering clean potatoes and completing orders. There is no special action and no hidden requirement.
The fastest route to Master Peeler is the same as the fastest route to the quota: automate early and keep the line fed. A manual grind will get there, but it takes longer.
How do you unlock Good Boy and A Heart of Gold?
Good Boy is confirmed: buy Dog Food at the terminal for $3, find the puppy, and press E to feed it. The dog recovers and later helps around the depot.
A Heart of Gold is not fully confirmed. The description says "Even the smallest act of kindness matters," and the community has linked it to helping the puppy or showing kindness to Pavel. Feeding the dog gives Good Boy, not necessarily A Heart of Gold, so do not expect one action to unlock both.
The safest approach is to be kind across the story: feed the dog, help when the game offers a choice, and avoid cruelty in the letter responses. If the achievement does not pop, you are not alone; its trigger is still an open question.
No reproducible step-by-step trigger is confirmed for A Heart of Gold. Any page that claims a one-click unlock is guessing. Treat the kindness route as a lead, not a guarantee.
How do you unlock the hidden achievements?
No Escape is the perimeter achievement. Before the quota is complete, walk past the outer security line. The guards fire and the achievement unlocks. This is not the golden-key door; it is the fence around the yard.
Unauthorized Passenger is the cableway achievement. Unlock the Sack Cableway, put a sack at the loading point, and ride the cableway yourself. The exact interaction has been inconsistent for players; the Steam guide says to place the sack first, then board.
Your Own Executioner is still unresolved. The description "You taught him well" suggests a choice involving Pavel, but no confirmed sequence exists. Some players believe it is tied to the letter responses; others think it requires a specific ending path. Do not invent a step list.
The cableway guide → covers the confirmed attempts. The Pavel letter guide → separates what is known from what is speculation.
How do you unlock the ending achievements?
The three route achievements are:
| Route | Ending | Achievement |
|---|---|---|
| Northern Front | For the Motherland | For the Motherland |
| Varenka | The Last Harvest | The Last Harvest |
| Western Industry | Traitor | Traitor |
Finish one route to unlock its achievement. After 1.0.1, a completed save can replay the final choice, so you can see all three without a new 60,000-potato run. Seeing all three unlocks Every Path Has a Price.
The full ending guide → explains the choices and the consequences. The short version: Northern Front is loyalty, Varenka is the village, Western Industry is the resistance.
FAQ
How many achievements are in Potato Please?
- Seventeen are visible and three are action-based or still debated: Unauthorized Passenger, No Escape, and A Heart of Gold.
What is the rarest achievement?
Unauthorized Passenger at 1.5 percent, followed by These Hands Were Made for Peeling at 4.6 percent. Both are action or grind unlocks, not story gates.
Can you get all achievements in one run?
No. The three ending achievements require three routes, and No Escape requires crossing the perimeter before finishing the quota. Use a completed save to clean up the endings.
Is A Heart of Gold bugged?
Not necessarily. Its trigger is simply not confirmed. The achievement has a 62.1 percent unlock rate, so players are getting it, but the exact action is still debated.
