Potato Please All Endings: Every Route Explained
Every Potato Please ending explained: the three train routes, the hidden outcomes, how to replay the final choice and unlock Every Path Has a Price.
Potato Please has three main train endings and two hidden outcomes. The train routes are For the Motherland, The Last Harvest, and Traitor. The hidden outcomes are No Escape and Your Own Executioner. Seeing all three train endings unlocks Every Path Has a Price.

The final choice is not a binary good-or-evil button. Each route is a different loyalty: the Ministry, the village, or the resistance. None of them is clean, which is the point of the achievement name.
How do the endings work?
Finish the 60,000-potato quota, peel the parachute potato, take the golden key to the Iron Door, and ride the railway to the split. At the split, three lines are available:
| Line | Route | Ending |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Northern Front | For the Motherland |
| 02 | Varenka | The Last Harvest |
| 03 | Western Industry | Traitor |
The choice is made at the train, not at the door. You can reach the split and still decide which line to take. After 1.0.1, a completed save can replay the final choice, so you do not need a new quota run for each ending.
The three routes are mutually exclusive in a single run. You can see one ending per completion, then reload the completed save to see the others.
What is the For the Motherland ending?
Northern Front is the Ministry route. You report as a loyal worker and the Ministry remains in control. The ending achievement is For the Motherland.
This is the "loyalty" ending, but it is not a happy ending. The depot keeps running, the quota system continues, and the worker is absorbed back into the machine. The game frames it as duty, not reward.
To get it, take Line 01 at the split and complete the report. The achievement unlocks when the ending scene finishes.
What is The Last Harvest ending?
Varenka is the village route. You choose the people who were supposed to receive the potatoes, but the train does not save them. The potatoes rot on the tracks and the worker is sentenced to death.
This is the bleakest of the three main endings. The village does not get a heroic rescue; the system punishes the attempt. The achievement is The Last Harvest.
Take Line 02 at the split. The ending is longer than the other two because it resolves the village storyline.
What is the Traitor ending?
Western Industry is the resistance route. You report the Ministry to the New Masters, the Ministry falls, and the People's Liberation Council takes over. The new government bans opposition and records the worker as dead.
The achievement is Traitor because the Ministry labels you one. The ending is not a clean victory: the regime changes, but the repression remains.
Take Line 03 at the split. This route has the most political detail and the coldest final narration.
The endings are short, and the choice is obvious once you see the three lines. If you want to experience one blind, finish the quota before reading the route descriptions.
How do you unlock Every Path Has a Price?
See all three train endings. After 1.0.1, load the completed save, replay the final choice, and pick a different line. Repeat until all three ending achievements are on your profile. The meta-achievement unlocks when the third ending is recorded.
You do not need to redo the 60,000-potato quota. The completed save preserves the endgame state, including the open Iron Door and the train split. That change was added specifically to make the ending cleanup reasonable.
If you are on 1.0.0, update before attempting the cleanup. The pre-patch save behaviour can send you back to an earlier state, which turns a ten-minute cleanup into another full run.
What are the hidden endings?
No Escape is not a train route. Before the quota is complete, cross the outer security perimeter. The guards fire and the achievement unlocks. It is a fail-state ending, not a story branch.
Your Own Executioner is the unresolved one. The description "You taught him well" points to Pavel, the worker's son, but no confirmed trigger exists. It may be tied to the letter choices, a specific ending, or a hidden interaction. The community has not settled it.
Some players count five endings because of these two. The game's main story has three; the hidden outcomes are extra achievements, not alternate train lines.
The Your Own Executioner guide → lists the confirmed attempts and the speculation separately. Do not treat a guess as a step-by-step.
Can you change your ending?
Yes, after 1.0.1. A completed save can replay the final choice. Load the save, return to the train, and pick a different line.
If the replay option does not appear, check that the save is marked complete and that the game is on 1.0.1 or later. The hotfix notes specifically mention the ability to rewatch endings from a completed save.
Which ending should you pick first?
Pick the route that matches the story you were playing. If you reported the resistance notes to the Ministry, Northern Front fits. If you hid them, Western Industry fits. If you focused on the village and Pavel, Varenka fits.
There is no "best" ending mechanically. The achievements are separate, and the meta-achievement requires all three. Pick one blind, then clean up the other two from the completed save.
